Daily Bible Reading - Sendmemail.org (Matthew 8)

Pastor Bill’s Journal Group

Monday, April 20, 2020

Welcome to my daily Bible reading group. Today I’ll be reading from Matthew 8.

Pastor Bill’s Journal Group is a live show that encourages people to read the Bible in a way that helps them get something out of it. Each morning, Monday – Friday, join me, Pastor Bill, as I share with folks my routine of reading the Bible and journaling, by doing them live. My example is simple and effective at helping folks become more consistent at reading their Bibles and applying what they’ve read to their lives.

My observations for this reading came from verses one through three. It’s the story about a leper who came to Jesus to be healed. He had so much faith that he made his request in such a way that left all the results up to Jesus.

He said if you’re willing:

And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.”

Matthew 8:2

And of course Jesus’s response is classic! He simply said I am willing. Is interesting about this whole dialogue is that the leper came to Jesus with a worship posture. There was no antagonism, just simple, honest faith and a desire to be healed.
