Pastor Bill’s Journal Group

Welcome to my daily Bible reading group. Today I’ll be reading from Matthew 10.

Pastor Bill’s Journal Group is a live show that encourages people to read the Bible in a way that helps them get something out of it. Each morning, Monday – Friday, join me, Pastor Bill, as I share with folks my routine of reading the Bible and journaling, by doing them live. My example is simple and effective at helping folks become more consistent at reading their Bibles and applying what they’ve read to their lives.

Personal Observations (Compassion)

I got a lot of stuff as I read this chapter today. I must admit there was an awful lot of great stuff in the chapter, but this is what came to the surface.

And you will be hated by all for My name’s sake. But he who endures to the end will be saved.

Matthew 10:22 (NKJV)

I’m not surprised that the world hates us. They were not fond of Jesus either. So, why would we think that they would be fond of us? I know we want people to like us, but it shouldn’t be at the expense of diminishing our witness as Christ-followers. There are many reasons why people don’t like Christians. We should all be aware that folks just may not like us because of our association with Christ.

The statement by Jesus, “But he who endures to the end will be saved.” should encourage us to remain faithful in the face of opposition. If folks don’t like us, let’s be sure that it’s only because we follow Christ. Not that we are jerks.
